The BCCI, fond as it is these days of telling other people what to do, has upped the ante once again. Not content with banning ICL players from the Champions League, it will now prevent its players from playing for counties who field players that have played in the ICL.
Seriously, this is a witch-hunt. It’s as if the BCCI think Shane Bond and the like have got some sort of contagious disease.
Contagious disease – no.. But the BCCI has, over the last 80 years, been the final arbiter of cricket in India and the ICL is seen to invade on that turf.
Any expansion of the ICL is seen as detrimental to the BCCI – it is a zero sum game.
