The England selectors (as well as certain sections of the media) must just watch the Ashes 2005 DVD box set (which, by the way, I saw on sale for a mere £3 the other day in FOPP) over and over again. The only players that seem capable of breaking into the England side, which is changed less often than a tramp’s underwear, are Andrew Flintoff and Simon Jones, who were of course both heavily involved in that series.
I know it was a great series, but…

Well, Jones and Flintoff were far superior in that series to any bowler since (except Harmison, briefly, vs Pakistan – anyone remember that Old Trafford Test in 2006?)
