Marlon Samuels, the West Indian batsman who some say may have been molested by cricket as a youngster, has been banned from cricket for two years for breaching the ICC code, specifically committing offence C4 (ix)- receiving “any money, benefit or other reward (whether financial or otherwise) which could bring him or the game of cricket into disrepute”. The ban refers to an incident in February 2007 when Samuels was ‘allegedly’ caught on tape passing on match information to an Indian bookmaker.
This means that Marlon’s promise will remain unfulfilled. How sad.
Hi there, my first comment on your blog. Could you please send me your email address?
I don’t know exactly what match information Samuels divulged, but it seems the ICC are taking a zero policy approach – Mark Waugh and Shane Warne were treated leniently when caught discussing pitch conditions.
I was molested by a bull ant as a child.
Still don’t trust em.
